Apologies to the handful of Scrabble friends not in attendance. I do hope you find the blogging interesting. I'm not going to do round by round updates because the tournament has live coverage. Instead, I'll post a couple of interesting positions from my games:


Two tough positions. Quackle has some ideas, but I don't trust its pre endgame function in situations like this. The play I made against Pakorn was not even suggested, and Q doesn't take into account inferences, such as Pakorn's fish or JG's probable lack of vowels.
Okay, off to dinner now win Jan Dixon, John Luebkemann, John Green and some others.
